Floral Screen, Iris, and Ontario Power are fairly representational - though certainly not realism. These are modified photographs. <<<>>> Glass, Color Show, and Bright Spot begin with photographic pixels. The images are so altered that any trace of what they once represented has vanished. With these I am reminded of a painting technique wherein we place a scumble of color over the blank canvas - as a starting point. The original photographic images are like that scumble - something on the canvas to start with. So with the original image. (It would have had nothing to do with the theme of the finished work and there is no evidence of the original digital-photograph remaining.) While these are entirely digital abstractions, the Glass series achieves some surprisingly realistic effects. People have asked to see the art glass. A favorite is the perfume bottle. Please note the dissolve into pixels as it floats above the plane.
<<<>>> These are my comments on a few of the series. There are more to view. Enjoy. I look forward to hearing from you. <<<>>> This work is created using a Sharp 4-megapixel digital camera, with processing accomplished on two used Dell Inspiron laptops, Windows 98 & XP, running Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0
